The camera, tripod and zoom lens are very important for a successful shooting day as they all contribute in recording high quality footage. The camera is used to record the footage and help focus the image when recording. The camera has lots of ways to change an image such as zooming, it allows an certain amount zoom when taking a shot which enables close up shots to be taken effectively.

 

However, a zoom lens is more efficient for zooming in and out of footage. This is an attachable lens which put onto the end of the camera to create different types of close ups or long shots such as extreme close up, wide shot or an establishing shot.

 

The tripod is used to balance the camera on it, which allows the camera to move slowly and steadily around if movement shots need to be taken. It also allows videos to be taken from different angles which helps to widen your variety of shot use.

Costumes are a very important necessity for filming days as they help to identify the characters role in the video and the sort of character they are can be easily read from the clothing they wear. For example, in our video the character of Zayn wears smart clothes such as a suit quite often which showcases he is a smart, well dressed man which can indicate he is wealthy and has a high paying job.

Make-up is also very important for helping to identify a character's personality and sense of style. Make-up can be used to make a statement on camera or it can just be used so an individual has a bit of colouring in their face as sometimes in video clips individuals can look quite pale because of what the camera picks up. For example, in our video the character of Bella wears quite dressy and revealing quite often, so to go with this look we decided she should wear quite heavy make up such as bold eye shadow and dark lipstick. This shows she likes to take care of her appearance and enjoys to doing her make up and dressing up when it may not even be necessary.
